October 15th, 2008SAVANNAH, GA – PureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) has retained Zhong Lun Law Firm in China to bolster the company’s international intellectual property arrangements in China as the company continues finalizing a manufacturing contract and prepares for product rollouts in the first quarter of 2009.
Zhong Lun is a top three firm in China with more than 500 attorneys and staff members and offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Tokyo. Australasian Legal Business (ALB) recognized the Zhong Lun as the Best-Managed Firm in China for the past two years, and the firm was voted the 2007 Beijing Law Firm of the Year. PureSpectrum will work primarily with the International Business Group at Zhong Lun, a team of approximately 80 attorneys who provide expert legal advice on all aspects of foreign investment and activity in China.
PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta said Chinese legal counsel has become necessary during the past two months as the company is negotiating contract manufacturing agreements with Chinese lighting manufacturers to build PureSpectrum products and international interest in PureSpectrum’s innovative lighting technologies has escalated. Several of the world’s largest lighting manufacturers have manufacturing facilities in China, and Vanatta said PureSpectrum must be prepared to move quickly while also ensuring the utmost protection for the company’s ballast circuitry and product designs.
“PureSpectrum has reached the point where we are receiving interest from multiple multinational lighting interests and planning the domestic and international introduction of our own proprietary lighting products,” said Vanatta, who will attend the United Arab Emirates Global Investment Forum in Dubai later this month. “The retention of Chinese counsel was imperative to assure full protection of our technologies to allow us to achieve optimum value for our shareholders. We are confident that the accomplished and respected attorneys at Zhong Lun will be a significant benefit as we continue to move forward in our efforts to produce and distribute PureSpectrum’s technologies and products.”
PureSpectrum has completed production of a full line of dimmable, high Power Factor enabled Compact Fluorescent Lamp prototypes ranging from from 14 watts to 23 watts and available in Edison screw-in or pin-based designs. The company’s engineering team is working rapidly to complete proprietary prototypes for a full line of dimmable linear fluorescent ballasts and a two-wire lighting control device that is capable of dimming virtually any existing lighting product.
PureSpectrum has established itself as a leader in lighting innovation through the creation of unique electronic ballast circuitry lighting products created through its market driven approach to improving the performance of ballast driven lighting applications. The company recognized needs within the lighting industry associated with the transition to more energy efficient products and specifically addressed the performance areas identified through market research. PureSpectrum’s ballast design incorporates true dimming capability and high Power Factor ratings for fluorescent lighting with minimum components and without compromising lamp life or longevity. Throughout the development process, PureSpectrum has supported its development by commissioning thorough independent testing for all of its technologies and products.
