Easing the transition to green lighting
It’s no secret that there is a global hunt for energy conservation strategies, and PureSpectrum is playing a leading role in the lighting industry’s efforts to promote the use of energy efficient lighting by educating and satisfying consumers. The ultimate solution for saving energy and preserving the planet’s resources is for consumers to begin using products which are environmentally friendly, but the catch is those products must perform well enough to gain consumer loyalty.
Almost every developed nation has passed legislation triggering the extinction of energy hungry incandescent bulbs within the next few years, and the CFL is the natural successor to fill the empty sockets left behind. The U.S. Department of Energy found that lighting accounts for nearly 25% of the total electricity generated in the United States, and according to calculations made by energy conservation groups if every home in the US installed just four compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs, we would save the same amount of electricity that’s produced by the six largest nuclear power plants in the world. Because lighting represents such a large portion of the total energy consumption, the DOE and the energy authorities in other countries have made identifying and developing reliable energy efficient lighting technologies a top priority.
That’s where PureSpectrum comes into the picture. PureSpectrum’s mission is to encourage consumers to trust energy efficient lighting by providing superior products and technologies which meet performance expectations. People have been bombarded with the message that lighting is a key component in any energy conservation strategy, but until now there has not been an admission that the lighting industry is obligated to make it easy to make the switch to energy efficient lighting. By introducing high performance products and being committed to educating the consumer, PureSpectrum is easing the transition to green lighting.
